
Petter Moen made his professional operatic debut in the role of Count Almaviva in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia, at Wermland opera, in Karlstad, Sweden. Since then, he has appeared with many theatres and festivals including the Norwegian National Opera, Royal Danish Opera, Royal Opera Stockholm, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Händel-Festspiele Halle, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Edinburgh International Festival, Oldenburgisches Staatstheater, Nederlandse Reisopera, Theater Chemnitz, and Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik. He has also performed with a wide range of orchestras, such as the NDR Radiophilharmonie, Arctic Philharmonic,
B´rock Orchestra, Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, Copenhagen Phil, Bergen Philharmonic, and the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra.
His operatic repertoire includes Rossini and Mozart roles, such as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Tamino in The Magic Flute, Count Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Prince Ramiro in La Cenerentola and Belfiore in La Finta Giardiniera. He has also appeared in a wide range of repertoire, including Brighella and Tanzmeister in Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos, Jaquino in Beethoven's Fidelio, Augustin Moser in Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Froh in Das Rheingold, Tchekalinsky in Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades, Pluto in Offenbach’s Orphée aux enfers, the Novice in Britten’s Billy Budd, and the Steuermann in Wagner’s Der fliegende Holländer.
Alongside his operatic work Petter appears regularly in the major oratorio and concert repertoire. His performances include Bach’s St John Passion and Christmas Oratorio, Händel’s Messiah, Mozart's Requiem, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Rossini’s Stabat Mater and Petite Messe solennelle, and Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings.
